What is Stimming?

Stimming, short for self-stimulating behavior, is a repetitive action or movement that some individuals engage in to regulate their emotions and cope with their environment, particularly in the context of sensory processing differences. It's a common behavior, especially among people with autism, but it can also be present in those with ADHD or other conditions. Stimming can manifest in various ways, including hand-flapping, rocking, jumping, repeating words, or manipulating objects.
